We’re getting on this topic and I’m sure I saw a total of three instances today people nearly colliding with each other because they were having their nose in their phones.
If I'm texting, I'm standing, sitting, or if I absolutely must be walking, speech to text While I'm keeping an eye on where I'm going. Being too focused on your phone while moving is just asking for trouble.
[He wouldn’t have too long to wait for her, because she was sending him a call right now. It was time to act, take a step forward, be proactive in her relationships.]
[Daria’s tone was always flat so it was easy to see any stark differences in how they handle themselves. Though it was tricky because the idea of a friend being in a bad situation sent her in enough of a tizzy that she reacted quickly on that reflex. Any person could remark on her truly looking like she cared despite her demeanor. At her current state, yeah, she did. Screw off.]
You’re alive and not dead. From how you were acting, it seemed like that was up in the air.
[She sounded a bit firm here, but only out of pure concern. But to the naked ear, it might’ve almost sounded like a mother scolding. Which wasn’t the mood she was going for, but her heart felt a bit exasperated.]
Maybe they didn’t do it knowingly but I wouldn’t put it passed anyone to not being particularly careful about your wellbeing.
[ There are the clear sounds of Sasuke going through turnstiles into the station. ]
Maybe... as much as they mess with me, I can't shake this feeling that they're actually good people. Is that messed up of me?
[ But then Yukimura comes in swinging and wins them over shounen style by fighting Saizo and unmasking Kotaro. Kotaro wtf were you doing at the cafe when you work at one in the Hojo family?
I don't... I don't like going on gut feelings and instinct without having something concrete to go off of. Facts and sources are important for any good reporter.
[ But then Sasuke sighs. It's heavy, and Daria might even be able to imagine his shoulders dropping and his head hanging down. ]
... But when I get this feeling so strongly, I have to pay attention to it. I feel like I know who they really are, but there's this wall between us that keeps us from seeing the full picture. Damn it, I must sound like I'm losing it.
No, losing it would mean you’d probably come up with half of that. That’s even if I were able to speak to you right now.
[Sasuke would hear a door opening.]
So you have some options. If you’re so intent on following your gut on this then it sounds like you need to start genuinely figuring it out. Maybe it’s about time you fought to find those answers, because faith alone isn’t going to cut it.
I'll pay close attention to their reactions when I tell them about tonight. I think that will tell me what I need to know about what kind of people they really are.
[ Daria is absolutely right. He can't keep doing his best and waiting for them to change because he's proven himself. He's not sure what he'll do if their reactions show that they aren't the people he hopes them to be. Start looking for a new job? ]
Public image is a hell of a thing. It's easier to for them to sell a "fair princess" than a "moderately okay looking princess". If you don't fit their image of how you should look, we have computers to "fix" it.
And Quinn has fallen into the belief that only her appearance is her best quality, so I do not mind offering my help, but she called me 10 times during private opera lessons.
